Web Server Guide
Learn how to upload and manage EPUB files over Wi-Fi.
Overview
CrossPoint Reader includes a built-in web server that lets you:
- Upload EPUB files from any device on the same Wi-Fi network
- Browse and manage files on the SD card
- Create folders to organize your e-book library
- Delete files and folders
- Direct book download (v1.2.0): Download books from the SD card to your browser through the web UI
- WebDAV support (v1.1+): Mount the device as a network drive in macOS Finder, Windows Explorer, Cyberduck, and similar clients
Requirements

- A Wi-Fi network
- A computer, smartphone, or tablet connected to the same Wi-Fi network
Step 1: Open the Wi-Fi Screen
- From the main menu or file browser, open the Settings screen
- Select the Wi-Fi option
- The device automatically begins scanning for available networks
Step 2: Connect to Wi-Fi
View Available Networks
When the scan finishes, the device displays available Wi-Fi networks with the following indicators:
- Signal strength bars (||||, |||, ||, |) indicate connection quality
- * symbol means the network is password-protected (encrypted)

- Press OK to select the highlighted network
Enter the Password
If the network requires a password:

- Use the navigation buttons to select characters
- Press OK to enter each character
- When finished, choose the Done option on the keyboard
Note: If you have connected to this network before, the saved password is used automatically.

- IP address (for example, 192.168.1.102)
- Web server URL (for example, http://192.168.1.102/)
Important: Make a note of the IP address — you will need it to reach the web interface from a computer or smartphone.

Troubleshooting
Device Not Reachable on the Network
Problem: The browser shows "Cannot connect" or "This site can't be reached".
- Verify both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network
- Confirm the IP address was entered correctly
- Include
http://at the start of the address - Try disabling any active VPN
Connection Drops or Times Out
- Move closer to the Wi-Fi router
- Check the signal strength on the device (|| or higher recommended)
- Avoid interference from other devices
Upload Fails
- Confirm the file is a valid .epub file
- Verify the SD card has enough free space
- Test with a smaller file first
- Refresh the browser page and try again
Security Notes
- The web server runs on port 80 (standard HTTP)
- No authentication is required — anyone on the same network can access the interface
- The web server is reachable only while the Wi-Fi screen shows "Connected"
- Leaving the Wi-Fi screen automatically stops the web server
- For security, use only on trusted private networks
Exit Wi-Fi Mode
After you finish uploading files:
- Press the Back button on the CrossPoint Reader
- The web server stops automatically
- Wi-Fi disconnects to save battery
- The previous screen returns
Uploaded files are immediately available in the file browser!
